11:13 pm

And I refuse to go to bed. Big Boy was sick all weekend and really gave me a run for my money today. I should have known I was in trouble when he decided he needed a nap. Since he woke up at 4:30am, I figured a nap would do him well......FAIL.

Normally, he goes to bed about seven on the nose, maybe give or take fifteen minutes either way. Not tonight. Thanks to the lovely one hour nap he had, he didn't go to sleep until almost 10pm. Ugh. This does not work for me. First of all, it's Sunday night, I have a ton of things to do to get ready for the week. Second, I wasn't able to go grocery shopping today because hubby was working OT and I didn't want to drag BB to Shop Rite while he was sick. I planned on going shopping after he went to SEVEN. Looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Super.

Here I sit, refusing to go to bed. I don't want to face Monday. This is really the logical thing to do. This way I'll be even more cranky tomorrow. It's a fool proof plan.

A Good Day

After I left work at 3pm, my day finally started to look up. I try to ignore the time I'm at work and not forget it even happened since it's been so stressful lately. I did have to go to the dentist right after work because my jaw has been cracking terribly lately and I've been getting the worst headaches of my life. He referred me to a specialist and told me he is 99% sure it's TMJ. Great.

Anyway, my sister in law watched Big Boy for a few hours and the hubby took me out for a drink and a few excellent appetizers. It was so nice to just sit and relax and let the rest of the world melt away, even if only for two hours.

Hubby bought some new cozy pajamas and a dear friend sent me an awesome Twilight t-shirt, which I'm wearing right now and I love it! All in all, it was a good birthday.

Dear Nasty Pharmacy Customers,

Could you please not be such horrible people. I'm sorry your doctor hasn't gotten back to me and your insurance doesn't feel Viagra is medically necessary to maintain your quality of life.
I do wish your insurance company would cover you Viagra because then...

1. You would be in a better mood because you are getting laid.
2. You would be in a better mood because you are getting laid.
3. You would be in a better mood because you are getting laid. Technically, you are paying for sex. Cheap shot, I took it.

I sympathize with you but taking it out on me really doesn't solve anything now does it. What it does do, is make me not give a damn about you therefore you can wait until the second coming before I ever call your doctor again. Yeah, calling your insurance company because you can keep track of everything is really a courtesy. I have absolutely no problem doing it either if it makes your day easier HOWEVER, don't ever tell me to get on the phone and FIX IT! See, unlike you, I know how to manage my medications.

The problem isn't the techs. We do everything in our power to make sure all of the patients receive their medication within the time frame it was ordered. I'm sorry you are so miserable in your own existence that you feel you can come in and treat everyone like shit. I also like it when I hear you talking about how everyone who works here should be fired because we are all idiots. Awesome. I guess those two college degrees I have mean nothing, at least in your eyes.

Finally, when you drop off your prescription and are told it will be at least fifteen minute, walking immediately over to the pick up counter and asking for said prescription makes you look like the biggest idiot ever put on this earth and when you walk away bitching about us, keep in mind we are laughing even harder at you.

The funny thing is, I really like my job. Most of the customers are fantastic. I'm happy I know them all by name and I do care how they are. It's a shame that there are always a few bad eggs in the bunch.

Have a great day!

Your Friendly Pharmacy Technician

I am so far behind. I have quite a few things I really want to update but need to squeeze a few more hours in to the day. Hang on a bit longer. I'll be back later with some good stuff!

Quite the Conundrum

I think I have mentioned that Big Boy has his first real field trip tomorrow at school. They are all going to Chuck E. Cheese. Since I found out about the trip I have been planning on going but, as the trip gets closer, my anxiety builds. I am terribly worried about how BB will behave it I'm there. I am so worried about him acting up because I'm going to be there and I don't want his trip to be spoiled.

On the other hand, I really don't want to miss his first field trip. I have gotten a lot of excellent advice on what to do and it's no secret that kids do tend to act out when you put school and parents in the same equation. I spoke with his teacher earlier and she completely understands my anxiety and suggested maybe I just stop by for a few minutes to say hi. Now, a normal kid may get upset when they see their parent leave. Not my kid. He'll get upset thinking I'm there to take him home which won't be the case, and I dare you to try to explain that to an already over stimulated three year old. No really, I dare you.

So, here I sit wondering what to do. I feel like if I go, I 'll be setting him up to fail. I feel like if I don't go, he'll be wondering where Mommy is? Damn.

Monday Morning Blues

I have them. Not only did the weekend go by entirely too fast, Big Boy decided to be a horrid little monster most of the day yesterday and capped it all off by waking up around 9pm last night and having an hour long pointless tantrum. Good times.

I have no energy. I don't think my body has been this depleted since BB was a newborn and even then I was able to get some sleep. The thought of going to work today makes me sick to my stomach. The patients were so rude and obnoxious of Friday which means they usually pick up where they left off on Monday. There really isn't any reason for it either. I just don't understand why people have to be so nasty.

Here I sit, watching the clock, knowing I have to leave within the next two minutes to get there on time. Is hoping for a small earthquake to much to ask? Blah. Off I go.

Help A Friend Out!

A friend of mine is doing a wonderful thing for a local high school. Seeing as many schools are tightly budgeted, there is a website running a contest for schools to win prizes for their prom. DJ's, decor, things like that. So be a pal and got vote. Obviously, if you see another school you would like to vote for by all means go right ahead if not cast a vote for Broadway High School in Virginia.

Just click here and follow the directions to the voting page. Scroll down to the Virginia section and cast your vote for Broadway High School! The lovely author of the blog Woman in Pink thanks you!

Enough Already

This really isn't fair. I took my lumps two weeks ago and dealt with having strep throat. I finished the nine days of antibiotics and was happy to have the yearly plague behind me. Wrong again. I knew something was off last night when I was getting nauseated by everything and I could feel the all too familiar weight in my chest and tickle in my throat. I chalked it up to being exhausted from the time change and went to bed. Wouldn't you know it, I woke up this morning feeling miserable.

Ironically, I was supposed to go back to the doctor tomorrow night to have a repeat strep test. Apparently, strep throat in adults can be very dangerous and my doctor like to play it safe. No biggie, I left work (which I fell so guilty for doing) and went to the doctor today instead. The good news is it isn't strep throat. The bad news is I have tracheal bronchitis and another sinus infection. How the heck does this keep happening???

I know how....I work in a pharmacy surrounded by sick people all day. Big Boy must bring home a ton of germs from school and Hubby works in an office building. Combine all that with my weak immune system and what do you This is a real bummer though. I'm super contagious and now I missed another day of work today and will definitely miss tomorrow. I'm supposed to stay out the rest of the week but there is no way we can afford it.

What next? Well, I can guarantee BB will catch this. He was a little stuffed up today. I know this sounds terrible but I hope he can fight it off until he gets home from school Friday. I can't miss anymore work to stay home with him. I know my luck will never work out that way. So here I sit, depressed about being sick and feeling lousy. Good times.

Since I Am Obsessed...

With the Twilight series, I tend to get really excited when I come across something new. I found this to be interesting. It's a few clips from the extended scenes in Twilight.

I'm definitely a little depressed I finished reading all of the books so quickly. I honestly couldn't put them down. Of course once I finished I had to dig further in to the mystery of Midnight Sun and I found a few sites which had the first 264 pages of the rough draft. IT IS FANTASTIC! It really is so interesting to move into Edward's mind and see everything from his point of view. I highly recommend giving this a read if you haven't already done so!

I did like reading that she plans on finishing Midnight Sun. After all. She would be crazy not to. All four of the books could be re-written from Edward's mind and would probably sell just as many as the first four if not more. Genius.

**I know this is old news but it's new to me**

Party At The White House!

I will start off by saying I really don't know how much "truth" there is to this article. I tried to research it on Snopes but wasn't able to find anything.

Apparently, The Obama's are quite the party animals. The White House appears to be the new Washington D.C. hot spot but just how much of our tax dollars are going towards these fiestas? I would love to find out. Obviously they have to entertain, that goes without saying but how much is too much? This is an extremely interesting article on the subject but like I said earlier, I wasn't able to find anything on Snopes so I have no idea how much validity it has. I'm wondering if there is a way to research which first Family has held the most "social gatherings" if you will, at the White House?

It does annoy me that Obama feels he needs to bring the outside to him since he is unable to move freely about his way. News Flash! You wanted to be President of this country therefore you need to except every aspect of the lifestyle that comes with it, both the good and the bad. Something tells me though, he will continue to do as he damn well pleases all at the expense of the average hardworking American.

You know what...I'm going to put this on the back burner for a bit and come back to it after I've done a bit more research on it. This entire story has me very intrigued....

Dear Husband,

If you don't stop snoring.....I'm going to end up in jail for a long time.

Your loving wife

And You're Not Quiting Your Job?

Of course. The winning lottery ticket in the huge NJ mega millions jackpot was sold just a few miles from my house. Obviously, it would have bee nice if it were mine but whatever. Would you quit your job if you won the lottery? HELL YEAH!

Apparently these people have no intentions of quitting their jobs. Hit the bullshit alarm because I can smell it a mile away. Your going to tell me the first time one of them gets stressed out about making a deadline or even something much less trivial they aren't going to think to themselves, "what am I nuts" I have millions of dollars," and just walk out the door. I guess I'm a terrible person because I would leave my job in a heartbeat. However, I would be sure to line up all the people (not co-workers) who have given me a hard time and one by one tell them exactly what I think of them first. I guess I'm a petty person.

Holy Snowstorm Batman!

I am truly shocked at how much snow is being dumped on the coast right now. We never see snow like this anymore. It's a little weird how the weather works here. The ocean plays such a large role in the forecast that it could be dumping heavy snow maybe 5 miles inland and yet all we'll usually get is rain. Not this time. It's coming down hard and isn't expected to stop for at least another twelve hours!

Hopefully hubby and I will be able to keep Big Boy entertained all day, as if the world doesn't revolve around him to begin with. I have a few activities planned I just hope it's enough. If only he was old enough to understand how awesome it is to sit around and watch movies in your pajamas all day when the weather is bad. He has to inherit that trait, right? I hope so or we are going to have some tough times ahead. Actually, pre-kid, snow days were the best days to go out bar hopping, safe I know. Every bar, if they were open, would be packed. Everyone walked there and it was so much fun! Even though I rarely drink now, I would love to head out tomorrow.

Doesn't matter though. We have big plans to builld snowmen, bake cupcakes and drink hot cocoa (mine will have baileys). Happy snow day!

The Storm Is A Brewin'

Normally I wouldn't mind getting a foot of snow but I'm just not that into it right now. Since it's a coastal storm, we'll probably get a little more than the is predicted so hopefully Big Boy won't lose his head from cabin fever over the next few days. School will be canceled tomorrow and I will miss a day of work, which really stinks since I missed a day last week from Strep but, a day off is a day off so I'll start to get excited about it later.

Being the Twilight junkie I have become, I quickly ran out last night and picked up Breaking Dawn. There was no way I was going to be trapped in the house without the last book! My OCD behavior also got the best of me last night because I bought the soundtrack. First of all, I can't remember the last time I bought a new CD. I usually just download off Limewire but when I was checking out all the tracks I deemed it quality enough to spring for the whole thing and my Limewire is acting wonky so somehow I used that to justify my new purchase. There is one song on there that I just can't get enough of. I found it on youtube....

Thought I would let everyone decide for themselves. I especially like the "fat house cat" analogy, it makes me giggle. Unfortunately though, I find myself being mad at the Hubby for not being a chivalrous vampire (yeah, I stole that line from a friend;)
